Roses are red, violets are blue, a number of Bloomex bouquets seem too good to be true.

"They look like something you'd find in the bin at the cemetery," angry Bloomex customer Amy told A Current Affair.

Bloomex is one of A Current Affair's most complained-about companies.

Bloomex customer Paul said he spent $544 and was expecting an impressive bouquet.

"My dad had passed, he'd been fighting cancer for the last three and a bit years and I wanted to get the flowers on behalf of my dad for my mum," Paul told A Current Affair.

"Here comes this cardboard box and the flowers looked like they were a $15 bunch that were wilted and horrible.

"I broke down crying and mum was saying to me, 'don't worry, it's alright'."

Bloomex is a Canadian company, operating in Australia and the United States.

All orders are made online.

The Australian arm will soon head to court after the ACCC accused the florist of using overseas customer ratings from 2015 and for advertising misleading discounts.

Choice magazine's editorial director, Marg Rafferty, said after conducting a mystery shop they found "21 orders that we placed - that Bloomex accepted and took money for - in eight of those cases they couldn't deliver".
